Afterglow

Aloha.

Seriously, I don’t get the theme of the Annual Ball at all. Afterglow?! Means you dont glow during the Ball right? x) you only glow after.

Anyway, I’d always wanted to dye my hair red but I was too lazy to do so I finally went to my stylist after my finals I was pretty worried that the dye doesnt work on my hair since it’s my first time dying it and we’ve decided not to bleach it ’cause the hydrogen peroxide damages the hair. but the effect was quite satisfying, apart from the stinking stench of ammonia exuding into the air.

It took me a freaking 4 hours plus to get my hair done. I was losing my patience towards the end of the 3rd hour and then they had to put a giant auto heater machine thingy near my hair. It was damn freaky ok. The machine was a mere 5 cm away from my hair and I was so afraid it’d ending up burning it or hving it dropping onto my head and killing me in a freak accident.

Well overall the Annual Ball was so-so. Great friends, awesome ambience, good performances and sucky (HORRIBLE) food. Suprisingly the songs played were pretty ok except for the first slow song. Can’t remember the title (it was soooooo bad). Don’t even get me started on the food. We had a 3 course meal and the starter was digusting. And I’m not even exaggerating. We were deciding on whether to go for mamak after the event right after we tasted the scallops. The starter served was raw scallops with avocado and olive oil and a small salad at the side. The raw scallops tasted funny to everyone since it had a fishy taste (i don’t really know how to describe it, it was just yucky). Hehe nearly everyone sitting at our table didnt finish it and was praying hard for the main course to be at least edible. And thank god it was. Dessert was a dish of creme brulee which will give the healthiest person alive severe diabetes. I think the student council should refund at least a quarter of the money that we’ve paid for the tickets since the food was pretty much inedible. Lol.

We’re supposed to meet around 6.45 pm and I thought I was very late but it turned out that I was one of the earliest!! Luckily Jack was there and I was talking to him until Wei Lim came with Rowern. And I adore Suet Mey’s dress and her whole look! Love the luscious ivy green empire waist gown and the whole hair set up. She looked like an ancient goddess from Greek (: Ok I’m going to grab a pic from facebook to show ya’all!

And she was also nominated for best dressed but the title was won by Ann who wore a Saree.

Hehe. I was looking for Mr Lim to give him a suprise since I’ve dyed my hair and was all dressed up. Sarah Jean said he was sitting at the lecturer’s table so I gave him a call and asked him to come over to our table to take pictures! Omg. He couldn’t recognise me at first and his eyes bulged out in the same ol’ Mr Lim fashion when he’s shocked or suprised. Lol it was soooooooooooooooooooooooo FUNNY. Then he kept laughing and shaking his head as usual.

Me: Sir do you know who am I??

Mr Lim: Harrrrrr you are Stefanie is it?! Hohoho! So different ar you all!! Couldn’tsssss recogniseeess you allssss!

Overall the ball was ok but the dance floor was really tiny man. We barely had any space to move let not dance. Dj was pretty good though We were supposed to go clubbing after ball but since it was a Monday night, all the clubs at Asian heritage close pretty early so we ended up going for mamak at Pelita. Lol. And we celebrated Ween’s 19th too at Novotel with a bday cake, at the same time were pretty afraid that the smoke detectors would be activated as we had candles on the cake. Lol. hope you had a great one weenz ((:
